Former farmhouse. Early C16. Timber framed and plastered, the front with old
plaster panels infilled with herringbone pargetting. Pantiled roof. 3-cell,
cross-entry type. 2 storeys. 4 windows, C19 casements: small-paned 2-light
windows to first floor, 3-light windows with horizontal glazing bars to ground
floor. C19 6-panelled door, the upper 4 panels glazed. Internal stack with
C19 shaft. Interior. 5-bay frame with widely-spaced studs. 2-bay hall, one-
bay parlour, both with very heavy closely-spaced joists, mostly plain.
Service partition has one blocked 4-centre arched doorway. Timbers in service
cell mostly concealed. Stack has a bay: rebuilt hall fireplace with old
lintol. Tie beam over hall chamber has heavy braces. Plain crown-post roof,
not examined in detail.
