Milepost. Dated 1834. Cast iron. Cylindrical with enlarged head divided into 2 inscribed panels. Left hand panel: "LEEK / 10 / MILES". Right hand panel: "ASHB / 5 / MILES" . Stem inscribed "LONDON 144 MILES". Top of head inscribed "JAMES BASSETT ASHBOURNE 1834".
