House, mid C18 for Rev Duke Butler. Rendered above rubble plinth. Tiled
roof with stone slate verges and end brick stacks. Symmetrical facade.
2 storeys, 5 bays. Sashes with no glazing bars, that to the centre of the
upper floor being of 3-lights. Ground floor has recessed, part-glazed C20
door with glazed surround. To rear are a possibly earlier kitchen wing
and a mid C19 extension. "RCHM, Dorset, vol III", p 203, no 5.
