Milestone. Probably late C18 or early C19 for the Bristol Turnpike Trust.
Freestone upright with a triangular head. Affixed cast-iron plate reads: "To/
Bristol ..." (the lower part is buried in the field bank). The Act for this
section of Turnpike was passed in 1726-27.
