4/138 Garden balustrade,
gates and steps
immediately south of
Caradoc Court

GV II

Balustrade, gates and steps. Probably mid-C19. Limestone ashlar and
cast-iron gates. Hippodrome plan with apsidal ends to east and west;
steps in south side. Gates and gate-piers to west apse. Balustrading is
punctuated by square piers and has moulded cornice. Gate-piers are square
section with dentilled cornices beneath curved bases to oval finials. Gates
are two-leaved with pointed finials above top rails and when closed form five
wheel motifs with rosettes to centres.
