Pair of cottages, late C17 to early C18, with rear outshuts and C20 rear extensions.
MATERIALS: Coursed limestone rubble, steeply pitched thatch roof, brick stacks.
PLAN: A pair of two-storey, two-unit cottages with end stacks and single storey rear outshuts.
EXTERIOR: In the outer bay on each floor, each has a two-light, six-pane timber casement under a timber lintel. Entrances under a continuous timber canopy have replaced C20 part-glazed doors. The west gable wall has a small upper window to the rear of the stack.
INTERIOR: Not inspected but number 84 is said to retain a plain unchamfered beam.
REASONS FOR DESIGNATION: 82 and 84 Church Street are designated at Grade II for the following principal reasons:
* Special interest as a pair of late C17 to early C18 vernacular cottages in close proximity to the parish church
