Farmhouse. Probably mid-C17 with later additions and alterations. Roughly coursed
slate-stone slate hung to left gable end; slate roof. 3-unit through-passage plan
with additions to rear. 2 storeys. First floor has four C19 casements directly
below eaves plus infilled opening above doorway, all of 2 lights except one of
3 with raised eaves line above to right of centre. All have L-hinges, except left
which has H-L hinges. Ground floor has glazing bar sash to left followed by 6-panel
door (top panels glazed) under lean-to hood, casement with L-hinges, a horned sash
and another casement with L-hinges, all except casement immediately to right of
entrance with wood lintels. Granite ridge stack with slate drip immediately to
right of entrance and external end stack with slate drip and red brick top to left.
Tall hip-roofed projection to rear on left abutting integral lateral stack with
red brick shaft to back wall of main range has gabled range at right-angles to
right running parallel with lean-to to rear on right of main range. Interior:
Inspection not possible at time of resurvey (December 1987) but said to have
chamfered ceiling beams and inglenook fireplaces.
