C17-C18 picturesque group of buildings under continuous, old tiled roof
with central gable facing street. The group is well conposed for the
up hill site. Nos 9 to 11 facade colour washed plaster. No l3 timber
framing exposed with plaster in gable end and red brick nogging below
- much restored. Nos 15 and 17, colourwashed brick. 2 storeys, 1 canted
bay window at bottom of group (No 9) and 2 at top end (No 17). No l3
has reproduction leaded casements rest, generally sashes with glazing
bars.

The raised pavement and wall forms part of a group with Nos 5 to 19 (odd)
the South Oxfordshire Technical College Old School and Main Buildings,
Nos 43 to 49 (odd) and the wall and gate piers to former Paradise House.
Ancastle Cottage, Nos 2 to 36 (even) and the pavement surface in front
of Nos 2 to 36 (even) opposite. Ancastle Cottage also forms a group with
the entrance walls, piers and gates and the lower lodge of Friar Park.
