GV II

House, now a shop. Late C17/early C18 and late C19. Rough
ashlar up to top of first-floor windows and 6 courses of brick
above, all painted. Steep-pitched tarred slate roof has brick
stacks to right gable end and left of centre. Originally
2-unit plan, now has rear ground-floor lean-to with a pantile
roof.
2 storeys; 3-window range. First floor has 6/6-pane sash
windows under wooden lintels. A passage to the far right has
timber-framing to its left-hand wall, ie. to the right of the
house. To the ground floor is a late C19 shop front which has
set-back double doors with overlight to the centre, pilasters
to the sides, a moulded cornice to the fascia, and full-height
plate-glass windows with colonnettes and ornamental tops to
the corners. To the first-floor rear are small early C19
two-light casement windows with small panes.
INTERIOR: early C18 doors with raised-and-fielded panels; the
roof has been lined in the late C19 with tongued-and grooved
boarding.
