SE 26 SE BISHOP THORNTON COLBER LANE

- II

House, now 3 cottages. Mid C18, altered C19. Coursed dressed gritstone,
Westmorland slate roof. 2 storeys, 2 bays, with lower 2-storey, 2-bay block
to right. Quoins. Blocked central doorway with alternate quoined surround
and plain lintel now contains 2-light window. C19 panelled door and 4-pane
window inserted into window opening to left. 3-light window with wooden
frame and mullions to right. Similar window to first floor right; side-
sliding sash with 8 panes to left. Original windows are in plain stone
surrounds. Shaped kneelers, gable coping, corniced end stacks. Lower 2-
storey block to right, possibly built as service range: 4-panel half-glazed
door to left; one ground-floor and 2 first-floor windows with 2-light
casements. Additional range attached to rear.
