GV II

Gateway. Probably early C19, possibly by James or Jeffry Wyatt (later Sir Jeffry Wyattville). Ham stone piers,
wrought-iron gates. The four piers square on plan, with plain bases, top bands, steps, and necked bases to pineapple
finials. The centre piers about 3 metres high, flanking the carriage gateway; the side piers about 2.5 metres high,
with pedestrian gates, The gates probably early C20, with plain rails with arched bracing. Of important group value
with Hinton House (qv).
