2/122 Herbert Cottage

GV II

Former stable block to Westow Hall, now converted to accommodation. Mid C18
of 2 builds with C20 addition. Brick in irregular bond to left, hammer-
dressed limestone to right, pantile roof. 2 storeys, with C20 single-storey
extension to left, 4 first-floor windows. C20 9-fielded-panel door in Gibbs
surround flanked by small 8-pane sashes and 16-pane sashes, all on
continuous sill. Large C20 casement beneath segmental arch to right. First
floor, 6-pane sashes with keyed lintels to left section. Sash with glazing
bars to right section. Dentilled eaves course, gable coping and stacks
rising through rear pitch of roof. C20 addition to left not of special
interest.
