Union Canal carrying approach drive to The Grove (q.v.). c.1800.
Elaborately stuccoed brick. Neo-classical style. 5m wide, humped.
Segmental arch with radiating voussoirs and keystone, flanked each side
by small segmental headed arches between panelled piers. Parapet with
piers ornamented with oval plaques, dummy balustrade over dentil
cornice. Splayed out at banks to end piers. (W.B. Johnson, Industrial
