Part of the same building as Nos 13 to 16 (consec) College Street (qv).
Partly a C16 timber-framed building, but Kingsgate Street appearance as
below. Late C18/Early C19. red brick front. Three storeys. Ground has
modern shop front and two panelled doors. Above are five windows, sashes
with glazing bars, two blank. Old tile roof.
The listed buildings from No 40 to Kingsgate House form a group.
