HEREFORD

Farmhouse, now 2 cottages. C18 and early C19 encasement of C17
core. Brick; Welsh slate roof; brick ridge stack; stone stack
with brick flue to rear. L-shaped plan, with No.4 as part of
wing to west. East front (No.3): 2 storeys; 4-window range:
C19 casements, with central blocked opening. Central entrance
with C20 plank door in simple porch, flanked by C19 casements
and blocked opening. Left returned side roughcast, displaying
steep rear pitch, and gable to stack. Right returned side: C19
casements and entrance (to No.4) with C20 door under simple
porch. Rear wing of English bond brickwork has various C19 and
C20 casements; C19 hoist door, and entrance door with
overlight; two C20 garage entrances. West gable has steps to
plank door to granary. INTERIOR: evidence of C17 box framing
with exposed cross frames in No.3 and bridging beams in No.4.
Staircase with moulded handrail and splat balusters.
