House. c1886, incorporating sections of late C15 bridge
structure. Brick, part painted, with hipped slate roof and
brick end stack. Stone cellar. 3 storeys, attic and cellar.
3-window range to St Martin's Street, single window to canted
corner and 2-window range to right return. 1/1 sashes with
moulded stone heads and sills. Square oriel to left with
pediment. 2/2 sashes above. Ground floor has central doorcase,
larger window to right and 1/1 sash to left. Doorway and
similar sashes to corner and return and similar oriel to right
on return. Deep eaves with carved brackets. Cellar projects to
river bank and contains walling which is part of the structure
of Wye Bridge (qv), and part of the cellar further south may
be part of the original bridge abutment.
