II

Former toll house, now disused. c1820, built for the Newark
Turnpike Trust. Brick with stone dressings and slate roof,
with large central ridge stack set diagonally. Rendered
plinth, kneelers, deep eaves on shaped brackets. Single
storey; 3 window range. Cross plan. Windows are boarded up.
Central projecting gable with segment headed window, and door
in right return. Right wing has a single window. Left return
has projecting gable with 2 round headed windows flanked to
left by a blocked door.
