Pair of terraced houses with ground-floor shops on prominent
corner site. c.1820 with shopfronts of mid and late C19. Brown
& gold stock bricks set in Flemish bond with glazed-brick
painted shopfront of c.1880-1910 to no. 92, and no. 94 with
fine wooden mid C19 shopfront. Welsh-slate hipped mansard roof
with dormers (& stucco parapet to no. 94); centre & end brick
stacks. House entrance to side streets with interior staircase
to upper floors. Three storeys with attic; 2 windows each.
Gauged-brick flat arches to upper storeys; 1st floor sashes
set in red-brick arched recesses linked by moulded stucco
impost string. 6/6 sashes to upper storeys including side
elevations (nos. 92 2nd floor and no. 94 1st floor with 2/2
sashes). No. 94 shopfront with panelled & glazed door to left
with plain rectangular overlight; 3-light window to right with
ogee arched heads, thin glazing bars, panelling below and
articulated by engaged fluted 3/4 columns. Frieze studded with
lion's heads and dentilled cornice above. Cloudsley Road side
elevation to no. 94 with good early C20 painted adverts and 1
1/2 storey extension to rear.
