Trinity House Cottages (terrace)

GV II

Trinity House cottages. Mid C19. Brick with white ashlared
render and low pitched Welsh slate roofs. 2 storeys and a 'U'
plan form of 4 similar units. Each cottage has tall central
black painted ridgeline stack with boldly oversailing courses
at head.
EXTERIOR: first floor has a recessed medieval double-hung sash
with small panes either side of a narrower similar window.
Ground floor has 2 similar but symmetrical 12-pane double-hung
sashes and a central projecting parapeted gable porch. Each
porch has flank entrance door with 6 flush panels, a 6-pane
double-hung sash in the front and above, a moulded and painted
Trinity House crest set in a rectangular moulded frame.
The return flanks of Nos 35 & 41 project forward on the main
north facade and have parapeted gables and 12-pane double-hung
sash windows on each floor. 2-storey C20 extensions behind Nos
35 & 41 and single-storey C20 flat-roofed extensions within
'U'. INTERIOR not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: contemporary white-painted boundary wall
with semicircular coping encloses a rear garden area with 2
double gabled slate-roofed outhouses attached.
