Farmhouse, now house. C17, with addition (or rebuilding) dated 1743 at
1st floor; altered. In 2 parts, the earlier of coursed sandstone rubble with
quoins, the later of red handmade brick in stretcher bond, all under blue
slate roof. Two units and 2 storeys; earlier part forming right-hand half
has quoins to both front corners, glazed door in altered or inserted opening.
3-light casement to the right and 2- and 3-light casements above, all modern
with small panes and in enlarged openings, but the right-hand gable wall has
a recessed chamfered window on each floor towards the front; left half of
brick has a 3-course band, segmental-headed doorway close to the junction,
segmental-headed 3-light casement to the left, casements above of 3 and 2
lights matching those in the right-hand half, and between these a segmental-
headed datestone inscribed:-
"John Walshan
Anno Domini
1743"
with a flourish each side of the date. Cut-down gable chimneys. Left return
wall and rear of less interest, large modern extension to rear of right-hand
part.

Interior: right-hand part (single depth) has longitudinal beam with cyma-
stopped chamfer, and shallow stone-arched fireplace; left part has double-
depth stop-chamfered lateral beam and stop-chamfered joists, original
elliptical-arched fireplace with coving above.
