GV II

Brewery, now transport depot, 1878 for Howard Horsell, named
Beaufort Brewery. Brick, stone sills and heads. C20 tiled roofs.
Central 3-storey block of one bay, and attached to rear, 3 storey
block at right angles. Single storey buildings towards road and
another to rear. Main block has brick pilasters to upper floors
with acanthus leaf heads, oversailing verges. Brick flue with
stone banding, iron bound at top. Attached block to rear with
paired windows and chamfered stone lintels and sills, roof half
hipped to rear. Single storey ranges, including 2 storey end
adjacent road not of special interest. 4-pane sashes, some
replaced.
Interior: floors on heavy iron beams and columns.
Horsell conducted a School of Scientific Brewing on the site.
