SK 5904 8/264 Taxi Station
Mid to late C19. Gothic style. Small building, detached, on island site
in Humberstone Gate. Stone rubble with ashler dressings. Steep-pitched
slate roof with moulded coping to gable ends with stone finials. Two
storeys. Ground floor central moulded pointed-arch entrance and flanking
two-light pointed arch windows with continuous impost mould. Moulded
string course above. Three first floor windows in moulded shouldered
architraves, centre smaller, above are two small high-pitched gables with
bargeboards forming pointed arch and pierced at apex. Moulded eaves cornice.
At each end there is window with three pointed arch lights and circular
panel above in gable. Chimney stacks at reat (south) with stone caps.
