House in 2 occupations. Late C18. Hammer-dressed stone, ashlar dressings,
stone slate roof. Symmetrical, 3 storeys and 3 bays. Quoins, moulded eaves
cornices forms stone gutter. Added C19 single storey porch the gable of which
forms pediment over doorway flanked by square columns surmounted by ball
finials. 2-light sash windows with plain stone surrounds and slightly
projecting sills to each bay and floor. Modern 2 pane sashes. Coped gables
with a stack to each end. Right hand return wall has added range with hipped
roof and large early C19 3-light sash window of 12 panes to centre with narrow
lights to either side. Doorway with monolithic jambs has re-used stone with
arched-head and spandrels bearing the date 1671, over lintel, possibly the base
of an oval window, and may indicate an earlier house on the site.
