GV II
2 houses. Probably C17, altered C18 and C19. Coursed squared marlstone, partly
rendered, with wooden lintels; plain-tile roof with brick stacks. Single-unit
and 2-unit plans, possibly formerly linked. 2 storeys, 2-window rendered front
of Thenton, to right, has a 5-panel door to right, a pair of narrow sashes to
left, and has 16-pane C19 sashes at first floor. Grange Cottage has two 3-light
C18 casements at each floor plus a central doorway; one ground-floor window
retains the surround of its stone-mullioned predecessor. Continuous
steep-pitched roof has 2 stacks set to rear of the ridge. Interiors not
inspected. Included for group value.
