Description

ORCOP CP -
SO 42 NE
6/46 Barn approximately 20 m
west of Old Hall Farmhouse

II*

Barn. Probably C15 with minor later alterations. Timber-framed on sandstone
rubble plinth with partial weatherboard cladding and asbestos roof. Three-
bay barn of four largely complete and substantial cruck trusses. Trusses
complete to ridge-piece with spurs and collars, though one collar is missing,
to north of centre. Wall-framing survives only in posts, sills and wall-plates;
subsidiary framing fragmentary. Irregular square panelled wall-framing with
infill missing. The barn is a compact yet impressive example of its type and
date. Old Hall Farmhouse is not included in this list.
