House, with two ground-floor shops. C17 Timber-framed house, with C18 and early
C19 extensions, and minor features. Plastered front wall, the rear wings with
some exposed framing and also tiling above stucco. Tile roof. The building has
a north front of three gables jettied above the 1st floor, which was formerly
jettied above the ground-floor, now extended forward beneath a flat roof; two
storeys three windows. The continuous bressumer supporting the gables has
mouldings and plaster coving with four ornamental pendants at the foot of the
gables. The upper sash windows are in rectangular bays, still beneath the jetty.
The ground-floor has a central early C19 sash, a Victorian splayed bay at the
east side and a projecting C20 shopfront at the west side, all beneath the
canopy formed by the flat roof At the centre and east bay are C18 doorways
(brought forward?) with 6-panelled doors in architraves.
