SO 82 SE
6/24 Barn, Pirton Court
GV II
Barn. Probably C17 but may be older; altered C18, C20. Timber
framed, part brick nogged, part wide boarding, stone plinth;
English garden wall bond brickwork; double-Roman tile roof. Five
bays. To road: right bay part brick wall: framing on left,

casement. To left, brick nogging only bottom panel, boarding top
2: sill appears to run through full length. Left gable: upper
part weatherboarded, lower hidden by buildings not of special
interest. To yard right bay rebuilt brickwork: former double
boarded doors to eaves, opening onto threshing floor: right door
now (1987) replaced by weatherboarded framing. Threshing floor
appears to have had doors only on one side, as moat may have been

seen: interior not accessible. Brick extension towards drive not
of special interest. Forms group with Pirton Court (q.v.).
