-

II

Farmhouse. C17 or earlier with C19 and C20 alterations. Colourwashed and rendered,
probably cob and stone rubble; thatched roof, hipped at ends with a catslide to the
rear where the outshut is roofed with bitumen-painted slate and corrugated asbestos;
2 axial stacks, 1 rear lateral stack at junction with outshut.
Plan: Single depth main range with a rear outshut that has been raised to at rear
gabled wing at rear left. Details of plan form not clear as interior not inspected
at time of survey (1986), but appears to be 3 heated rooms with an approximately
central entrance directly into the centre room.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 5 window front with a glazed 2-leaf garden door
approximately in the centre. Fenestration of late C19 or C20 timber casements with
glazing bars.
Interior: Not inspected at time of survey (1986) but chamfered cross beams survive on
the ground floor and other features of interest may survive including the possibility
of early roof timbers.
