- of Nant-y-Gollen


Barn. Late C17 or early C18 with later alterations. Weatherboarded
timber frame on high uncoursed limestone rubble and brick plinth with
rubblestone gable ends, corrugated iron roof. 4 bays with former
threshing bay in second bay from south. Interior: framing: tall
rectangular panels, 2 from cill to wall-plate with long straight tension
braces to bay divisions; double-purlin roof has raking struts from
tie beams supporting principal rafters. Loft over northern bay and
fodder store below southern bay.
