Coach house and stables. Late C18. Local stone rubble with Doulting stone ashlar dressings, hipped plain clay tile
roof. 2 storey, 3-bay elevation to Higher Backway. Elliptical arch with plain surround, bay 1; pointed arch doorway to
bay 2 with studded door and finial which might be from Bruton Abbey (demolished after l786); modern garage doors bay 3;
circular opening in square stone, now blocked, over centre doorway; to rear, facing garden, centre pointed arch doorway
flanked by pointed arch "Y" tracery windows. Important as part of setting to No 3 High Street (qv).
