Farmhouse. Early to mid C17, with C19 addition, altered in C20. Rendered stone
rubble and cob walls. Gable-ended corrugated asbestos roof. 2 brick stacks - 1
axial and 1 at right gable-end.
Plan: 2 rooms-and-through-passage plan - larger hall/kitchen to the left, parlour
to the right. C19 rear outshuts added. Position of stairs altered in C20, eaves
raised and roof structure replaced.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 4-window front of circa mid C20 1, 2, and 3-
light casements, metal frame 3-light casement on ground floor to right. C20 plank
and glazed door to right of centre behind C20 conservatory/porch. Outshuts extend
along rear wall.
Interior: hall has wide fireplace with chamfered and step-stopped wooden lintel and
dressed stone jambs of which the right-hand one incorporates a date-stone (probably
re-used) inscribed with 1790 and the initials I.P.F. 2 ovens. The right-hand room
has a smaller fireplace with chamfered and ogee-stopped wooden lintel. Rough
insubstantial ceiling beams. Roof timbers completely replaced circa 20 years ago.
