Town Farm Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Probably early to mid C18, extended at an early date; slightly
altered. Killas rubble brought to courses, with large granite quoins and
all with remains of whitewash; slurried slate roof with brick chimneys.
Rectangular plan of 3+1 units, the original building consisting of a 2-unit
house with integral stable to the left, the 4th unit added at the right-
hand end. Two storeys and 3+1 bays; doorway between 2nd and 3rd bays with
quoined surround and rectangular lintel, a 2-light casement to the left, a
12-pane sash to the right and 2 similar windows at 1st floor above these;
to the left, the stable has a horizontally-hinged casement at ground floor
and a square loading door above, and its gable wall has a loft door with
remains of steps below; the addition to the right has a wide blocked
doorway with rectangular lintel next to the quoined junction, and a sashed
window on each floor (like the others). Small chimney at junction of roof
(originally the gable), and another at gable of addition. Rear has inter
alia a small 2-light casement at 1st floor and a 2-light casement at ground
floor of the addition. Interior not inspected but may contain features of
interest.
