Cottage. Circa early C18. Painted and rendered stone rubble with cement-washed
scantle slate roof with gable ends. Several early crested ridge tiles. Large stone
rubble chimney stack in lower gable end and truncated projecting lateral chimney
stack to higher end on front. Probably 2 room and through passage plan the lower
left-hand room heated by fireplace in large end stack, the higher right-hand room
with front (originally rear) lateral stack. C20 stairs inserted into passage. 2
storeys, asymmetrical elevation to Mill Hill. Ground floor with C20 part glazed door
beneath slate lean-to canopy. C20 window above. Lateral chimney stack projection to
right. Rear elevation probably once front. Symmetrical 2-window front with ground
floor openings enlargened.
Interior with C20 stair inserted in through passage. Fireplace to lateral stack
blocked and C20 chimney piece to fireplace in gable end. First floor not inspected.
