8/83 Linhay 20 metres to north west
- of Weston Farmhouse

GV II

Linhay. Circa mid C19, possibly with earlier origins. Stone rubble side and rear
walls and stone rubble piers, supporting first floor which is timber boarded with
horizontal planks. Slate roof with hipped ends and deep overhanging eaves.
Plan: Overall rectangular plan, the ground floor open-fronted. Blacksmith's shop
originally to left and the lean-to C19 extension on right contains a complete row of
hen boxes.
Exterior: 2 storeys. The ground floor is open-fronted with several of the piers
having being rendered and painted. On the left the blacksmiths shop is weather
boarded. First floor weather boarded with probably C19 horizontal boards.
Interior: The floor joists are fairly massive and at least one is chamfered.
Complete C19 king post truss roof. Lean-to outshot on right has a row of complete
hen boxes with the wooden outer framing insitu.
