2/46 Poolbank Cottage.

GV II

Farmhouse: C17 substantially rebuilt in early C19 on original lines.
Washed Flemish bond brick on sandstone plinth, some timber-framing.
Thatched roof with corrugated iron over, 2 gable and 1 ridge brick
chimneys. 1-storey and attic, 4-bay north front. 3-light wooden
casements under shallow segmental brick heads, the one above breaking
roof line. Partly glazed door in the 2nd bay. Right end bay is lower
and blank, in timber-framing.
Interior: 3-room plan, heavy ceiling beams, one chamfered, one bead
moulded, and chamfered joists. Central fireplace may be blocked
inglenook. Tiebeam and collar trusses and wind-braced purlins.
