Milestone: c1750. Triangular sectioned ashlar sandstone block with a
shaped top. West face reads "To miles", with London and
the distance deliberately erased. East face reads "To" the remainder
has exfoliated.

One of a group on the old Macclesfield to Buxton turnpike of 1750.
There are 2 others in Macclesfield Forest (q.v.). The stones were
probably erased when the new turnpike was built in 1821.
