Former National School, now Joiner's shop and Funeral Directors.
Dated 1848. Hammer dressed stone. Stone slate roof with gable
copings on long carved kneelers with square pyramidal finials.
Paired octagonal ashlar stacks to each gable. Single storey and
basement. Stone steps lead to central porch with tall double
doorway with low Tudor arch with carved spandrels and hood mould.
Plaque in gable apex is inscribed: 1848
NATIONAL SCHOOL
To each side is tall 4-light chamfered stone mullioned window with
round arched lights. Hood mould over. At basement level to left
is shouldered arched entrance and 3-light window. Recent addition
to right. Rear elevation has 4-light window to left and right
and central 3-light window detailed as before. At basement level
are three 3-light altered windows.
