House, divided into cottages, now in 2 occupations. Dated 1630. Finely dressed
stone, stone slate roof. 2 storeys. 4-room front. Weathered plinth,
continuous dripcourse over ground floor windows which rises over door and has
straight returns. 4-light chamfered mullioned window, with same over. Inserted
C19 doorway next to original entry which has tie-stones straight lintel, stop
chamfered surround. Through passage plan. Over door is inscribed tablet
bearing date and 'JOHN:EASTWOOD: I C'. Chamfered mullioned window of 4 lights.
Over is stepped light. Double chamfered mullioned window of 5 lights with
3-light chamfered window. The interior of this room has reeded spin beams.
2 C19 doorways with monolithic jambs. Double chamfered mullioned window of
5 lights with 3-light chamfered window over. All windows have altered glazing
and lack some mullions. Right hand return wall has 2-light double chamfered
mullioned window next to extruded stack with offsets. Attached to left hand end
is added late C19 cottage excluded from the item.
