House. Dated 'WC 1702'. Dressed stone, stone slate roof. 2 storeys. Doorway
with moulded lintel, spiral-patterned, and a carved stone above with a horseman,
dogs and two masks. Small double-chamfered mullion windows, some altered, some
later windows. Kneelers, coping. 3 stacks with moulded strings. Rear: chamfered
doorway with shaped, dated lintel and later gabled porch. Two double-chamfered
mullion windows to ground floor and 3 above, of 2, 3 and 4 lights. Right return
has large inscribed stone tablet dated July 1843, stating that providence Lane
(which begins here) is a private road to Providence Mill.
