Secondary School. By 1959. Scherrer and Hicks with Bradford City Architect. Blue brick, glass curtain walling and ceramic tiles; flat roof. Irregular plan loosely grouped around an open courtyard; central assembly hall, gymnasium and entrance hall block of two storeys with enclosed central courtyard with linked houseroom and teaching block to east and west. House block of two storeys and teaching blocks to west of three storeys. Central entrance and staircase hall of two-storey height, fully glazed from floor to ceiling, with cantilevered canopy; fine tile mural to left of entrance on outside of building by Joe Mayo. Interior of entrance hall has light timber cladding to walls and staircase rises to gallery to
rear, overlooking planted internal courtyard. Circular brick boiler house chimney. Awarded RIBA Bronze Medal, 1959.
