House. Mid C19. For the Cantley Hall estate. Cement-rendered brick,
graduated slate roof. 2 storeys, 3 x 1 bays with lean-to wing to rear
centre. Plinth. Central porch with clasping pilasters and full entablature;
part-glazed door within and blind panel above both have architraves.
Projecting sills to sashes with glazing bars in ashlar surrounds beneath
cornices on consoles; moulded 1st-floor string course continued from porch
cornice. Overhanging eaves to hipped roof with 2 corniced stacks to rear.
Rear: unequally-hung 9-pane sashes in surrounds as front. Right return:
windows as front. Formerly known as Chauffeurs Cottage having served that
purpose for Cantley Hall (q.v.) situated nearby. Attached outbuildings on
left are not of special interest.
