Circa 1788, built by Mrs Wilks of the Granby as a theatre; closed circa 1830
and later converted into 2 lodging houses. Symmetrical facade with slightly
recessed wings and pedimented centre. 2 storeys. Fenestration 2:3:2. Coursed
squared grit stone. Recessed sash windows with glazing bars; pediment with blind
lunette window. Stone slated roof with coped gables. Mansfield House with Tuscan
doorcase with semi-elliptical head, radial fanlight and panelled door. Mansfield
Cottage doorway with plain surround, fanlight and panelled door.

Nos 7 to 9 (consec) form a group with Nos 9A 11, 12 and the Empress Hotel.
