Funeral chapel, late C19. Timber-framed, plastered with frame exposed
externally and internally, on base wall of gault bricks, English bond. 2 bays
aligned approx. NE-SW. Double doors at each end, with a pair of round-headed
lights above each. 2 similar pairs of lights in each side wall. Plain glass at
SW end, elsewhere stained glass in leaded geometrical pattern. Curved bracing
at each end, ogee-curved bracing in each side wall. Plastered with ridged,
arrowhead pattern externally, plain internally. Arch-braced collar clasping
side purlins. Bargeboards with quatrefoil piercings. Floor of red and black
tiles in diaper pattern.
