GV II

Detached house. C17 and C18. Dressed limestone, tiled roof with
gable end brick stacks and coped verges. L-plan. Two-storey, 3-
window. Central chamfered doorcase with C20 door and early C19
trellised tent porch, 3-light recessed chamfered mullioned casement
to right and 3-light ovolo-mullioned to left. First floor has 3-
light recessed chamfered mullioned casement to right, 3-light ovolo
to left and moulded flush mullioned casement to centre. To right
is buttress with offset top. Right return has 2-light mullioned
casement to attic, 4-panelled door and 4-pane sashes on right
return of wing. Rear has ovolo-mullioned casements to main range.
Interior has deep chamfered beams, open fireplace and C18 moulded
stone fireplace surround with wooden cornice. Unusual dog-leg
stairs have C18 moulded handrails and balustrade and dog-gate with
St Andrew's cross panels.
