Pair of houses in row. Mid C19. Cement rendered, slate roofs.
A disparate pair, with a throughway at the right-hand end of
No.40. 2 storeys, 2+2 windows; sashes, the upper sash with
margin panes. Ground floor has a canted bay with sashes, under
a hipped slated roof, at the outer bay to each dwelling; that
to No.40 has a dentilled and moulded eaves. Centred to each
property is an arched opening with a C19 flush panelled door
under a plain glass fanlight, and to the right in No.42 a
further arched opening with a part-glazed door under a deeper
plain fanlight, giving to an open throughway. There are brick
stacks at the left gable and centre ridge.
