Berni Royal Hotel
and The Feathers
ST 3161 NE 9/45 Public House
Circa 1845. Rendered. Ground floor rusticated. Symmetrical facade with central bay
advanced. Three storeys. Seven windows all round headed bipartite, except in
central bay, with raised surrounds and keystones. Projecting entrance porch of one
storey with balustrade. Overhanging bracketted eaves. Same details on rear elevation
to Royal Parade which forms a group with Royal Terrace (see Royal Parade). Adjoining
block to north is The Feathers. Probably the former coach-house or service wing.
Rendered, slate roof. Two storeys. Round headed windows in heavy surrounds with
keystones and impost bands joining ground floor windows. Wide segmental arched entry
