Stables, coach-house and wall enclosing stable yard. Early-mid C19 but incorpora-
ting parts of mediaeval stonework. Rubble and freestone dressings; C20 tiled
roof and coped raised verges. 2 storeys. West elevation: blocked, wide entrance
under a segmental head; mixture of lancet and cusped windows. North elevation:
3-light stepped lancet windows in chamfered surrounds and under hoodmoulds. East
elevation: segmental headed coach entry at right and two C20 garage doors at left;
two single-light arched windows on first floor. The walls of the stable yard
extend south towards the Refectory (q.v.), around the north end of the coach-house
and return to the south on the east side of the yard to join the south-east corner
of the Refectory. Built of rubble with freestone coping and dressings: approxi-
mately 3 m high. The north side has 2 buttresses with off-sets and 2 plain lancet
windows; 4-centre headed doorway at left of east buttress. East side: 6 plain
and thin lancets and one wider; buttresses with off-sets at south end; central
archway under a gabled top with pinnacles and flanked by angled buttresses.
Inside the yard and adjoining the south-east corner of the wall is a lean-to shed
which has an ashlar front and two 4-centre headed doorways.
