House, now divided into three, in the village street. C15, altered C17 and C20.
Rendered. The rendering on No 42 has been removed exposing the stonework and timber
lintels. Double Roman tiled roof; brick stacks. Three rooms and cross passage.
No 42 occupies the service end; No 44 occupies the 2 bay hall which was floored over,
a stack inserted in the cross passage and altered in C17; No 46 occupies the inner
room or parlout. Single storey and attics in four steep gables. C20 2- and 3-light
casement windows to No 42; mid C19 4-pane sash windows to Nos 44 and 46. C20 doors
to Nos 42 and 46 and No 44 has a plank door in a double ovolo moulded surround which
has a cambered head. Interior. Kitchen (No 42); stop-chamfered beams and the chamber
above has a chamfered doorframe with a 4-centred head; collar beam trusses. Hall:
(No 44) the roof has 2 raised crucks or principals with curved feet, one has an arch-
braced collar and staggered butt purlins; all the main timbers are stop-chamfered
