Farmbuildings forming 3 sides of rectangular yard of which farmhouse forms S
side. Mid C19. Red brick with yellow brick dressings, and polychrome
surrounds to some openings. Slate roofs. O-plan, with additional L-plan
block projecting W from SW angle. N wing : 2 storeyed, containing large
threshing barn to W, and first floor granary to E above loading and storage
area which is open to N. E wing : single-storeyed except for central entrance
archway with low first floor room and pyramidal roof. S part includes cart
shed, N part includes stabling with original loose boxes. W wing : single-
storeyed, mostly taken up by stables. Apart from the opposing cart entrances
of the N block, these 3 wings have their openings onto the farmyard. Mostly
plank doors with hit-and-miss ventilators and strap hinges. Cast iron small
paned windows. All openings with cambered heads. Entrance arch has bull's
eye windows. Diamond pattern ventilation holes. SW L-plan block : single-
storeyed, yellow brick. Includes a smithy, served by double ridge stack.
