west of Church Farmhouse
GV II
Attached cottage and dairy. Late C17, with some C20 alterations. Rubble-
stone walls with dressed stone quoins. Clay-tile roof, scaled, with stone
gable-copings. Two storeys. Four windows, 3-light and 4-light wood case-
ments, one 3-light casement window with ovolo-moulded wood mullions, C17,
to first floor. Plank doors left of centre and towards right hand end.
Stone steps up on north gable wall, to plank door. Interior of cottage,
left hand end, has -chamfered ceiling-beam, mid C17. Large open fire-
place. Attached walls, running east from north end of Milkhouse, C17.
Coursed rubble-stone walls with ashlar coping stones, 23 metres by 15 metres,
returning to farmhouse. (RCHM, Dorset I, p 257(5)ff).
